Born in 1973 during the Vietnam War and adopted to the United States in 1974, Jane Joy grew up in a loving family and enjoyed a happy childhood. She later earned her bachelor’s degree in International Studies, which deepened her curiosity about the world and her roots in Vietnam.

Although multiple DNA tests have yet to connect Jane with her biological family, the search has taken her on meaningful adventures. She returned to Vietnam for the first time in 2015 with her adoptive mother, visiting Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, the Mekong Delta, and Ho Chi Minh City. That trip also included a river cruise along the Mekong with memorable stops in both Cambodia and Vietnam.

Jane returned again in April 2025 to mark the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon. That visit included a five-day, 220 km fundraising bike ride from Ho Chi Minh City through the Mekong Delta, where she and fellow adoptees handed out food parcels to elderly mothers and delivered DNA kits in hopes of building connections between families.

The ride sparked something bigger: together with three adoptee friends, Jane co-founded Con Tim Me, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to reuniting mothers and adoptees through expanded DNA testing in South Vietnam. Today, as President of the Board and Director of Operations, she brings both heart and humor to the mission—proving that even a long bike ride, a little grit, and a lot of joy can help bridge decades of separation.

Jane lives in St. Louis, MO in the United States. She's married to her husband, Brent, and they have two children, Robert (25) and Elizabeth (16).
