A Family Search donation funds the Pre-Investigation Phase, where a dedicated Case Manager carefully reviews each adoptee’s documents, history, and goals. This stage includes:

• Comprehensive document review and case planning

• Identification of legal, administrative, or geographic challenges

• Preparation of necessary consent forms for authorized searches

• Updates to the official Case File with new findings

• Recommendations for DNA testing and database comparison
