Con Tìm Mẹ Goes to London!

Our Stall at Centre 151's Open Day

We have exciting news from across the Atlantic! On Sunday, 27 September 2026, Con Tìm Mẹ had a stall at the Centre 151 Open Day in London. Our UK Ambassador and Board Treasurer, Jaki Clibbons (known to many of you as @papayaverte), ran it for us in her official role.

A Celebration of Community

Centre 151 organized the Open Day to mark East and Southeast Asian Heritage Month, with support from Hackney Council, Kakilang, Wellness Collective, and Van Huynh Company. It was a free, all-day festival with food, arts and crafts, qigong and tai chi, line dancing, live music and dance, family workshops, massage, and a lantern-making workshop from the Museum of the Home. For Jaki, one moment stood out. "My heart was full of joy watching the aunties in full áo dài & tiaras dancing," she shared. It was a lovely reminder of how much culture and community mean to all of us.

Carrying Our Mission to the UK

Jaki set up our table with the Con Tìm Mẹ Mother Search banner and brochures. She spent the day talking with visitors about how we help reconnect Vietnamese intercountry adoptees and war-era children with their biological families through DNA matching, genealogical research, and reunion support. Events like this help us reach adoptees, families, and anyone searching for a lost connection who may not know that help exists.

Jaki said she was "so happy and honoured" to join Con Tìm Mẹ, and we feel the same way about having her with us. She brings warmth, dedication, and heart to everything she does for our mission, and she is building our presence in the UK one conversation at a time.
